GRASAG-UENR Gets New Executives

The Graduate Student Association of Ghana – University of Energy and Natural Resources (GRASAG – UENR) on November 24, 2023 inducted into office newly elected executives.

In his handing-over address at the University Auditorium, the outgone President, Mr. Mark Amoah Sarpong expressed gratitude to the past and current Dean of Students and applauded the Executives for their commitment and dedication. He disclosed that a common email platform has been created for GRASAG to address communication gaps that exist between students and the university.

The new President, Mr. Joseph Domokpe giving his speech said his administration is poised to promote the core values of the university and collaborate with the University Management for the common good of the University and graduate students. He promised to continue with the existing projects to enhance the Association.

The Dean of Students, Prof. Simon Abugre chairing the event, charged the new Executives to be abreast with the communication channel in the university and run an all-inclusive administration. He added that should prioritize programmes that benefit all members of the Association.

The Head of the Academic and Students Affairs Division, Dr. George K. Anane advised the newly inducted Executives to listen, consult and learn more. He explained to them that leadership is about service and a process to learn and develop their skills. Dr. Anane also challenged the Executives to be Innovative and interested in skills development.

Representing the Registrar, the Acting Head of General Administration, Mr. David Twumasi-Ankrah pledged the support of the University management and advised them to eschew mediocrity. He urged them to see their positions as an opportunity to serve and shape their leadership skills. He added that as leaders they must intentionally balance their position and their academics adding that they should continue the unfinished projects and initiatives of the past executives.

Also present at the handing-over ceremony were the Head of the University Relations Office, Mr Alfred O. Appiah and the Director of Regional Centre Energy Environmental Sustainability (RCEES), Prof. Eric Antwi Ofosu.
